Frank J. Caliendo M.D. FACS, FASCRS
Dr. Caliendo was born in New York and received his Bachelor of Arts
Degree in Biology with a minor in music at Hofstra University in 1989.
He then went on to receive his medical degree at The University of
Health Sciences/ Chicago Medical School. From there he completed his
five years of general surgery training at Long Island Jewish Medical
Center in New York. Dr Caliendo then chose to pursue specialty training
in colon and rectal surgery with Associated Colon and Rectal Surgeons P
.A. After completing his colon and rectal surgery training he returned
home to New York to practice while fine tuning his laparoscopic skills.
He then returned to New Jersey to join the attending staff at Associated
Colon and Rectal Surgeons P .A. Dr Caliendo is Board certified by the
American Board of Surgeons as well as the American Board of Colon and
Rectal Surgery. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons
and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Dr. Caliendo has
presented research at local and national colon and rectal society
meetings. Dr Caliendo's practice consists of the treatment of routine
and complex disorders of the colon, rectum and anus. His areas of
interest include laparoscopic colon rections for the treatment of benign
disorders as well as the surgical treatment of rectal cancer. Dr
Caliendo is married to Elaine Caliendo and they have three boys,
Vincent, Nicholas and Joseph. He enjoys music, boating and skiing.
